2025-26 Volunteer Grants

Expressions of Interest Now Open

The Albanese Labor Government’s Volunteer Grants are about celebrating the wonderful role volunteers play in supporting and sustaining our local community.

Right across the Braddon electorate I see the great work done by volunteers in sporting, veterans, community service and natural heritage, childrens’, aged care and creative arts organisations – just to name a few.

I am inviting eligible not-for-profit organisations to submit an Expression of Interest in a Federal Government Volunteer Grant of between $1000-$5000.

There are different categories for Volunteer Grants:

Category 1:  Purchase of communications and IT items (such as laptops phones, payment devices and software),and paying for insurance premiums.

Category 2a: Purchase of items for the main purpose of supporting a community organisation’s volunteers from the cohorts outlined in Section 5.1 or the Grant Guidelines.

Category 2b: Purchase of items that support volunteer-run activities within community organisations for the main purpose of supporting cohorts outlined in Section 5.1 or the Grant Guidelines.

There is limited funding available for Volunteer Grants. Submission of an Expressions of Interest is the first step in a process which will be finalised in the second half of 2026 by the Department of Social Services.

To be eligible for the Volunteer Grants organisations must:

  • be a not-for-profit organisation
  • have a minimum of 40% of volunteers working for your organisation
  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or be willing to provide a statement by Supplier form.

Make sure you read the Grant Guidelines before submitting your Expression of Interest

Expressions of Interest must be submitted online using the form here
