ALBANESE LABOR GOVERNMENT INVESTING IN SAFER RAIL CROSSINGS ACROSS BRADDON

The Albanese Labor Government is continuing to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and rail users across Braddon, delivering more than $4.6 million in railway crossing upgrades across the region since 2025.

As Rail Safety Week shines a spotlight on the importance of safe behaviour around rail corridors, these investments highlight the Government's commitment to reducing risk and enhancing safety for local communities.

The works have included upgraded warning systems, modern signalling technology, improved road markings and enhanced signage at level crossings in Ulverstone, West Ulverstone and Highclere.

Federal Member for Braddon Anne Urquhart said the upgrades were helping make railway crossings safer and more reliable for the community.

"Every Australian deserves to feel safe on our roads, including when travelling through railway crossings," Ms Urquhart said.

"These investments from the Albanese Labor Government are reducing risks for motorists, pedestrians and train operators, while ensuring our rail infrastructure can continue to support growing regional communities.

"Across Braddon, we're delivering practical improvements that will have a lasting impact, including new active protection systems, upgraded signalling controls, clearer road markings and improved stop signage.

"Rail Safety Week is an important reminder that safety around rail corridors is everyone's responsibility. These upgrades will help protect lives and improve safety outcomes for communities right across our region."
