More Investment for Circular Head Roads

The Albanese Labor Government is continuing to deliver critical road upgrades for communities across Braddon, with funding confirmed under the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program (SLRIP).

An investment of $696,744 will support the design and construction of the Woolnorth Road Bridge over the Welcome River, improving safety, accessibility and reliability for road users in Woolnorth and surrounding areas.

The project will replace the existing bridge with a dual‑lane concrete structure, ensuring safer travel for residents, freight operators, emergency services and visitors using this important local route.

This project is part of a more than $107 million investment nationally across 42 projects in the latest round of SLRIP funding, including over $91 million directed to regional communities across Australia.

The Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program is just one of the ways the Albanese Labor Government is supporting local councils as they face rising costs associated with essential road upgrades and repairs. With more than $200 million available each year, the program strengthens investment in safer, more productive local roads nationwide.
